Hand thrown pieces made of grogged clay are sculpted to produce a lidded vessel for potpourri, if desired. I was interested by the intricacy of this structure and the way the pod opens, petal-like to reveal the depth within. Unglazed and fired to Stoneware temperature. It is frost-proof and can live outside.

This machete explores a small seed pod I found, and is made from two colours of clay. The lighter shade describes the supporting structure holding the dark segments in place. It is fired to Earthenware temperature.
